Spoken – Our romance won’t end on a sorrowful note, though by tomorrow you’re gone. The song is ended, but as the songwriter wrote, ‘the melody lingers on.’ They may take you from me, I’ll miss your fond caress, but though they take you from me I’ll still possess…. ( Music Rising) . . . “The Waaaaaaaaay Yoou Hog May Cat/ The Waaaay you Oink at me/ The Memory of all thaaaaaat/ Oh, No They Can’ Take That Away Form Me!!!!!”

    Gershwin?

Heifer whines could be human cries
    Closer comes the screaming knife
    This beautiful creature must die
    This beautiful creature must die
    A death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER

And the flesh you so fancifully fry
Is not succulent, tasty or kind
    It’s death for no reason
And death for no reason is MURDER

And the calf that you carve with a smile
    It is MURDER
And the turkey you festively slice
    It is MURDER
Do you know how animals die?

    Kitchen aromas aren’t very homely
It’s not “comforting”, cheery or kind
It’s sizzling blood and the unholy stench
    Of MURDER

It’s not “natural”, “normal” or kind
The flesh you so fancifully fry
    The meat in your mouth
    As you savour the flavour
    Of MURDER

    NO, NO, NO, IT’S MURDER
    NO, NO, NO, IT’S MURDER
Oh … and who cares about an animals life?

Mr./Mrs. “Who Cares…” – Wow, I LOVE The Smiths. This is one of my favorite songs, too. Not exactly “William, It Was Really Nothing,” but a lot better than “Frankly, Mr. Shankly.” You do know that this song refers to cows, exclusively, right? I mean, with the sound of the cow “moo”ing and the electric prod going and the knife/band saw running and all.. Morrissey makes it pretty clear with references to “calf” and “heifer” that he’s not into cow, but I never recalled seeing/hearing anything in reference to pork.

Hey, since my colleague, Robert Feder, wrote about Walter Jacobsen coming back to CBS, wondering if you can reprint the lyrics to “Bigmouth Strikes Again.” That would be hilarious.

    Cheers.
