Wikipedia Files: Scott Lee Cohen

This morning, former Lt. Gov Candidate Scott Lee Cohen entered the cage. Well, it’s really just a studio and instead of a fight, it was a fun romp via Wikipedia Files. Cohen is on a media-blitz to clear his name and maybe a path for running independently in November?

We asked him about his Wikipedia page (not really), his 12 round bout with the Chicago media, the Vertigo night club debacle, the Super Bowl announcement and how much we would get for our out-of-date camera. Enjoy.

Wikipedia Files with Joe Piscopo

When veteran comedian Joe Piscopo was in the studios last week Justin joined Brian Babylon on Vocalo radio. If you listened to the interview you already know Justin got in a few questions about Piscopo’s Wikipedia entry. If you missed it, here’s the video.

You can catch the “Vice Chairman of the Board” and his big-band act at Germania Place on New Year’s Eve.

The Wikipedia Files with Jeff Garlin

Jeff Garlin knows his way around WBEZ. He’s been on Studio 312 twice (1 and 2), so when we found him hanging out by himself in our lobby on Friday it was only kind of surprising. It turns out he was here to record an interview with Scott Simon for Weekend Edition. While he was waiting we fact-checked his Wikipedia entry.

On an upcoming Sound Opinions you can hear him talk about “Doolittle,” his masterwork with The Pixies. You can watch his Wikipedia Files installment (episode #23) right now!

The Wikipedia Files welcomes Peaches! (with bonus slideshow)

Today we fact-check the Wikipedia entry of the most controversial performer we’ve ever interviewed: Peaches! The Canadian electronic rock musician is well-known for her over-the-top live shows and frank sexuality. On occasion she’s been known to make some men uncomfortable… and Justin is not immune!

News Desk Intern Kate Gardiner went to Peaches’ show on Friday and got these photos as well:

The Wikipedia Files with Dave Willis and Dana Snyder of Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Last Friday Vocalo had Meatwad and Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force on the air promoting their new Christmas album. We were thrilled by the opportunity to do a Wikipedia Files episode with the men behind the voices, Dave Willis and Dana Snyder. The only problem was the host of Wikipedia Files, Justin Kaufmann, wasn’t at work that day. No problem, we just let Dana and Dave fact-check each others’ entries.

The Wikipedia Files with noted expert John Hodgman!

We’re excited to bring you episode 21 of The Wikipedia Files with John Hodgman! In this series we fact-check Wikipedia entries with the subject of the entry- just to be sure there aren’t any made-up facts in there. Since Hodgman’s books The Areas of My Expertise and More Information Than You Require are full of made-up facts, we were hoping to uncover some doozies. Find out how we did by watching part 1 of the interview.
