New video: May all your wishes come true

You’ve made your wishes. And now I’ve made this video for you (and The Wish Fairies).

Because the laws of space and time prevented us from including every wish in this mini-film, and because we truly want ALL of your wishes to come true, you’ll see/hear ALL of the wishes left on the toll-free Wishing Line just below the film.

Sunday Noises by the band Califone.*

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I think this song is a really good song to make a wish to… So with Sunday Noises as your back drop, call our Wishing Line at 312-948-4690, close your eyes and make a wish.

If you’ve already made your own wish, perhaps pass this along to other wish-seekers.

See you back here Friday,

miss amy k.r.

*And check it:  Califone is playing TONIGHT at Lincoln Hall in Chicago!  They are AMAZING live.

Inter Mission: Wish upon a star (button)

During this Inter Mission, I want to invite those of you who have not yet made your wish to call our newly set-up Wishing Line! Read the rest of this entry →

This week’s mission: MAKE A WISH

There’s something quietly powerful about closing your eyes and making a wish, isn’t there?   There’s a gentle/strong juxtaposition at play:   the gestures/customs themselves are typically gentle acts (throwing a penny in a fountain; blowing out the birthday candles; blowing on a fallen eyelash; blowing a dandelion), but inside we are wishing oh-so hard.

Because I haven’t  quite figured out a way to morph into a genie and grant you all wishes, we’ve done the next best thing:

We’ve set up a TOLL FREE WISHING LINE! Read the rest of this entry →

Fun Marching Forth results and question for you

Well, we absolutely have to begin with this clip of Gemma’s mom and dad dutifully marching forth at their daughter’s direction.  How cute is this, how cute are they? I’ve looped it (since it was the one and only video submitted!) and set it to Dave Matthew’s song “Ants Marching.”

As for the rest of you, here’s a list of who started what yesterday: Read the rest of this entry →

Inter Mission: Jefferson, Lincoln & Roosevelt inspire us to ‘March Forth!’

Breaking form a bit today with today’s Inter Mission.

(For those of you who are paying super close attention and are sticklers for consistency, I typically post one of my cartoons/greeting cards in this mid-week slot.)

BUT THIS IS WAY TOO GOOD TO PASS UP:

It turns out that March 4th was the day that 3 of our most visionary presidents took the stage and made their Inaugural Address.  How perfect, right?  A speech about beginnings on the one day of the year that, thanks to word play, we can equate with “marching forth”!

Thomas Jefferson: March 4, 1801

Abraham Lincoln: March 4,  1861

Franklin D. Roosevelt:  March 4, 1933

I hope everyone is getting ready to MARCH FORTH tomorrow, March 4th (whether that means figuratively with your personal life objective, and/or literally with regards to the marching video idea from Monday).

As you ponder and prepare, I will leave you with these Inaugural Address quotes to inspire and get the blood pumping… Read the rest of this entry →

This week’s mission: ‘March Forth’ on March 4th!

The first day of this new month has inspired this week’s mission.  In a word:

March!

It’s a tidy noun and verb all in one.  As a noun it calls to mind spring and beginnings, and as a verb it’s a direct call to action.

So, here’s what what we’re going to do here:

1.  We all have something we keep saying we want to start (taking a class; writing that novel; joining a gym; creating and regularly implementing a tradition; learning guitar...).  Whatever it is you have been pondering and planning, SHARE it in the comment section.  Stating it here (and perhaps getting feedback and go-for-it wishes from our community) just might be the final kick in the pants you need.   Read the rest of this entry →

Mission Accomplished: We’re here because we’re here (chorus)

We asked for your submissions singing “We’re Here” for the Beckoning of Lovely film project. We were able to get some video, but mostly audio. Here is a great video clip from Mafalda Nobre:

and after we gave out the phone number, we received these:

and for good measure – a submission in auto-tune:

I Am T-Pain: We’re Here

Mission accomplished!

See you back here Monday,

Inter Mission: Camera shy? Sing into the phone instead!

a) Wanna be part of this week’s singing mission but feel a bit camera shy?

b) Would you actually love to film yourself singing but just can’t find the time?

c) Do you just like playing with your cool phone?

We have just the solution for all of you!

We’ve set up this handy hot- line for you to call in and sing “We’re Here Because We’re Here.”  So give us a call… and sing loud and proud. We’ll edit the clips together for Friday’s post. The number is 1-888-635-1112. When you get the voice-mail, press 2 and leave your song after the beep.

Oh, and don’t forget:  we’re still taking roll call.   Click on the comments section in Monday’s post below and tell us you’re HERE…and where here is!
